I have a great idea for some mobile phone software and want to protect it, copyright maybe?
I have heard the laws are different in the UK from the US.
Do I have to build the software before copyrighting it or can I protect the “idea”?
Also Because my idea uses other technology (GPS) does that affect my copyright?

Why don’t you just hire a lawyer and sell your idea to one of the big mobile software companies? Let them copyright your idea! It would give a lot of headache. Good luck!
